Custom Dashboards with R/O Access to Customers

Hi,

do you have plans for Custom Dashbords .. where we can define to show which Data from which Server to a Customer ... e.g. Customer might be only interessted in seeing CPU and Memory for each Server in a combined Dashbard ... not seeing all metrics which are available ...

Do you have then plans that we can give customers R/O Accesss to these dashbords?

Do you have a time line?

Thank you for asking this feature.

We do have plans for Custom Dashboards. The first version of it maybe as we call it internally "Graphs Tab". This would allow you to select different metrics from different monitors and have all metrics show in one graph or one below the other as different graphs. I guess saving this in to a named "tab" would make it a custom dashboard of sorts.

We will post screenshots of it when we have some version to post here.

If you can give any checklist items that you would like to ensure is present in a "Custom Dashboard", please list it here.

Now talking about making it available with R/O access, I believe today you can provide Web Client Users a Read Only Access role and associate users to specific "Monitor Groups". They will then be able to see only those Monitor Groups and monitors present within that "Monitor Group". We will do something that works within this framework when we release this feature.

I hope this would satisfy your requirement.

We hope to have this done within  the next 2 milestone releases.

Today You can define for a User Roles like

"Operator" to a specfic Monitor Group --> Useless, because yes he only sees the Monitors of his Group, but he sees Anomlies, Mantaince, Logreports, Userdata etc for Data comming from other Groups ... so it is not consistent and for endcustomers completly useless!

Same for Spokesperson!

So there is a real need to define a new role for endcustomers!

Sorry about that. I consider that to be a bug. Will check with the team and post an update here.

Hi Sven,

We are working on read-only share option for specific views of our web client, such as Alarms, Home-NOC View, Home-Monitor Groups etc. You will get a public URL with an encrypted key that you can share with others or embed in any portal. So when we support custom dashboards, we would extend this public sharing functionality to those as well.

Now about the dashboards, as Gibu has mentioned, we will initially support "Graph Tab". Then we would enhance the support to customize the Home tab with the desired set of charts and metrics from different monitors. You can expect the fixed widgets, that you see in individual monitor's dashboard and few more new widgets, could be placed in Home Tab. Feel free to share the list of your desired widgets to be present in the dashboard.

Hello Sven,

We're glad to let you know that the Custom Dashboard feature is now GA. Please follow the steps below to start building your personalized dashboard:

  • Login to Site24x7 web client
  • Access Home > Dashboards > Create New Custom Dashboard

BTW, we have also made available the R/O feature in the dashboards. So, now you can make the dashboards public using the encrypted permalinks or even extract the dashboard as a PDF document.

To know more about all the key features about our Custom Dashboard, please check-out our detailed community post and Help Documentation

Thanks,

Abhiram
